Everyone seems to have an opinion on it! A few people have told me that cyclists should have to wear a helmet. No they should no. I have tried explaining but the points about the inconvenience of wearing one and my feeling that drivers give me more room when I am helmet free didn’t have the strongest sway.
I sat down with a pen and paper and then a keyboard and thought about all the reasons I didn’t wear one. Hopefully the following video gives a strong set of reasons why wearing a cycle helmet should be a choice. It should not be compulsory. I hardly ever wear one.
And you shouldn’t. And you should. It’s up to you.
