Hello,
You may have seen the recent video entitled ‘Race the Tube – Sprint’ in which a man with working legs left the underground circle lane at Mansion House, ran along the street and back onto the same train as it approached Cannon Street. Impressive.
In case you haven’t seen it. Here it is:
The fellow commuters realised what he was doing and cheered as he just made it back onto the tube.
But there was no cheering here. To parody this, a wheelchair user attempted to replicate it. But was promptly stopped from going down to the tube at Cannon Street station because of the stairs. Stair-free access?! I know the Underground is old – some parts at 150 years but surely something can be done to help with accessibility.
