Dear Diary,
Quick update. Today is 32/366. 8.7% of the year is already complete. It feels like I have blinked and the month has gone but equally, as it is January, the month after festivities and extended break of Christmas, it seems to have lasted a long time.
So far this month I have kept up my new exercise regime. I am very pleased about this. As well documented here I have been an active person for years. It is often in the guise of cycling. I find I am used to using these muscles so it is easy for me. I cycled 68.33 miles in January. This new regime however has seen me running and now I have done so for the last fornight of running 4 miles on average, except Sundays. I did two Parkruns. I ran smaller amounts of the first week but it was hindered by a week when I had an angiogram and needed to rest.
I used the gym a couple of times. I have formally started my gym use today, on the February 1st. I ran to the gym and back again this morning.
Oh, with work, I also cycled. I borrowed the cargo bike to drop off some equipment.
As I have been looking back at all of the photos I have taken in January, as well as the exercise, I realised how busy the month had been. I had a few cycle related meetings out of work, and in work, I had meals out a few times, canvassed in Clifton, met up with friends, took part in Critical Mass, canvassed in my home town of Wellingborough, started meeting up after work with Seb for a drink in a different pub, as well as everything else in between! A few photos are selected below.
Let’s see what February has to offer!
Speak soon,
Samuel.
